Have you ever wondered what it is like living in Kihei Maui?
Aloha I am Jill from Wailea Realty Corp located here in beautiful sunny Kihei, Maui. Today I am going to tell you what it’s like living in Kihei, my home town. Kihei is a very low-key laidback community with no big resorts. We have lots of small shops and stores. The big box stores like Costco, Target and Walmart are located up in Kahului about a 20 minute straight shot and the airport is there as well.
The foodie scene on Kihei Maui is awesome anywhere from fine dining to some of the best food trucks in the world. Many of the local restaurants have happy hours some of those would be Nalus and Mulligans and they have live music almost every night of the week.
Kihei has some of the world class golf courses. Actually most of them are in Wailea but it is right next to Kihei. There is the Wailea Golf Club and there are three courses there, the Blue, the Emerald and the Gold course. There is also the Makena Golf Club and the public course Maui Nui in Kihei.
Kihei has a great school system, starting with Kamalii Elementary school, Lokelani middle school, Kihei Charter, and the new Kihei High School which is now under construction. We are all excited about the new high school.
So people often ask me, what’s the best thing about living in Kihei? Well obviously, it is our great beaches. Some of the local favorites are Kamaole beaches 1, 2 and 3 and that includes Charley Young beach at the north end of Kamaole Beach. My personal favorite is Keawakapu Beach. It is a long stretch of beach. Its great for an early morning walk or to watch sunset. Its also a favorite beach for a lot couples that like to walk hand in hand and enjoy a quiet peaceful sunset.
Kihei Real Estate
I know you have been waiting to here what real estate pricing is like in Kihei. Entry level condominiums start at around $350,000 upwards to million dollar oceanfront condominiums. We have two classifications of condos here in Kihei, vacation rentable also know as Airbnb and long-term rentable with a six month lease or longer. There’s also a couple of new condominiums under construction and those are estimated to be completed around 2024.
Entry level residential homes start at around $500,000 and go upwards to multi million dollar oceanfront homes along South Kihei Road and Halama Street.
